Memorial Bursary - Call for Applications

The Dean Larivee Memorial Bursary

Each year the BCFTOA awards one or more $500 Bursary's to the son/daughter of an active member of a participating department to support post secondary academic goals.

The BCFTOA Bursary was first awarded in 2003 and was renamed the Dean Larivee Memorial Bursary in honour of Dean’s dedication and many contributions to the BCFTOA, fire service training and the fire service in general.

Sooke Fire Rescue to host Marina Fire Fighting Course

Sooke Fire Rescue is Hosting the JIBC course, Marina Firefighting, on September 22 & 23, 2012.
 
The Marina Firefighting Course is a two day program that will prepare land based firefighters for marina firefighting. The course will cover topics such as marina construction, fueling stations, vessel stability, hazards in fighting marina fires. As well as, a review of firefighting foam, specialty equipment, and a marina visit to discuss strategies and tactics.
 
Location: Sooke Fire Rescue Station One - 2225 Otter Point Rd.
